Danny Lyons, Steinway technician
Piano tuning, repair & restoration
Danny is a Mississippi
native who has lived and worked in the Pensacola area for 20
years. His skill as a piano tuner and technician is well known throughout
the gulf coast area. He is the Steinway technician for the Gulf Coast
area.
Danny majored in piano and
voice at Louisiana State University and the University of
Mississippi. He then began the study of piano technology in Memphis,
Tennessee. Danny has also completed training at the Steinway
Institute of Piano Technology and the Yamaha Piano Technology
School.
Danny has specialized in the
rebuilding of the finest pianos, especially Steinways. Examples have been the Steinway in the Mississippi
Governor's Mansion, the 1850 Square grand in the Oakleigh House in Mobile, AL and Steinway concert grands at Pensacola
Junior College and Springhill College in Mobile. A highlight in his career occurred in 2004 when he
was chosen from a worldwide field of technicians to restore the Steinway used at the Isador Bajic
Memorial Piano Competition in Novi Sad, Serbia & Montenegro in Europe.
Danny is the concert tuner and technician for both
the Mobile and Pensacola Symphonies.
Danny is also an accomplished
solo handbell artist. He has produced solo CDs and has performed throughout the United

Danny is a member of the Piano
Technicians Guild and the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers and the
American Guild of Organists.
Danny offers complete
restoration services for Steinway and other fine pianos. In addition to
normal piano servicing he is also a certified PianoDisc installer for
all brands of pianos.
